Rob Aitken's home page

First off, thanks to the kind people in the SCTest group for sponsoring this page.

I work at Hewlett-Packard, in the IC test methodology group. I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Victoria in 1985 and 1986, and my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in 1990. Before joining HP, I also worked at the Alberta Research Council and at TRIUMF. Neither of these is directly related to what I am doing now, which is mainly R&D in VLSI testing and diagnosis. My current interests are fault diagnosis, built-in self-test, fault modeling, IDDQ testing, and synthesis for testability.

Upcoming conferences and workshops:
International Test Synthesis Workshop
International Conference on Computer-Aided Design
International Test Conference

Anything else I could put here will be out of date in five minutes, given the way the Web works. I'm working on getting electronic versions of some papers to put here. I've noticed that David Lavo has a poetry page, so here's one of my favorites:

I think that I shall never see
A billboard lovely as a tree.
Perhaps, unless the billboards fall,
I'll never see a tree at all.

Ogden Nash

Every web page needs pictures, so here are three:
